Water Polo: Israeli women won bronze at the tournament in Prague


Girls will play for Israel at the Olympics-2024

The Israeli water polo team won the Czech national team 9:2 in the match for third place at the XVIII International Tournament in Prague among juniors.

In the "blue-white" four goals scored at the home of the hostess Futuryan, a hat-trick was able to make Bugachenko, one more ball was held at the gate of opponents Farkas and Golan.

On the way to bronze, the Israeli woman first won against Malta with a score of 15:5, then beat Wales with an even bigger score (23:7), in the third game Irishmen were beaten - 12:2. The representatives of the Jewish state conceded only once: they were defeated by the water polo players of the national team of South Africa - 12:10. These competitions are held in preparation for the European Championships, which will be held this summer.

The junior team (under the age of 17) is the Olympic project of the Federation of Water Sports, the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sport: the girls have to make their way through and play at the Games of 2024. Head coach of Israel Dimitris Mavrotas was pleased with the performance of his team: "For many girls it was the first international tournament."
