Day 5 at Rio Olympic Pool


Yakov Toumarkin, the Israeli record holder for the 200m Back with a time of 1:55.96, will jump in the pool tonight and try to save his ranking from the London 2012 Olympic Games where he made history and ranked 7th in the Final. He won the Silver at the Long Course European Championships, 2016. Check out his 200m Backstroke swim in the Heats: heat 3- lane 3.

Also tonight: Andrea Murez will swim the 100m Freestyle. Murez will swim the 100m Freestyle in heat 3, lane 6 with a qualifying time of 54.40sec. She will have to be in the top 16 swimmers to move to the Semifinals tomorrow morning. Top swimmers that swim with Murez in this heat are The Dutch Femke Heemskerk, Ranomi Kromowidjojo Olympic Record holder (53.00sec), the Italian Federica Pellegrini, the Danish Jeanette Ottesen and the World Record holder (52.06sec) Cate Campbell, from the Swedish Bronte Campbell and Sarah Sjostrom. Amit Ivry will swim the 200m Breaststroke with a qualifying time of 2:29.57 at heat 1 lane 6. In heat 4 will swim Yulia Efimova, representing Russia, with a qualifying time of 2:21.41. The swimmer with the fastest qualifying time is Viktoria Zeynep Gunes, with a qualifying time of 2:19.64. Rikker Moller Pedersen, the World Record holder (2:19.11), qualified with 2:21.58 and will swim in heat 2. Gal Nevo will swim the 200m Individual Medley his qualifying time of 1:59.69 has him swimming in Heat 3 lane 1. Michael Phelps will swim in heat 4 with a qualifying of 1:54.75. Phelps is the Olympic Record holder from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games with a time 1:54.23. The World Record holder (1:54.00 Shanghai, 2011), Ryan Lochte will swim in heat 2 with a qualifying time of 1:55.81. Good Luck to all swimmers! Especially to all Israel swimmers!
