A remarkable story of courage, determination, and the unbreakable human spirit.
Israeli athlete Boris Shtonda suffered a life-changing injury during the war against Hamas, losing his leg and embarking on an incredibly difficult journey of recovery. What followed was a long and painful rehabilitation process that included 19 surgeries, countless hours of therapy, and unwavering determination to rebuild his life.

Most people would have considered simply returning to everyday life a victory. Boris chose a far greater challenge.
Against all odds, he set his sights on one of the toughest endurance events in the world: the IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii. The grueling competition pushes athletes to their limits with a 3.8 km swim, 180 km cycling course, and a full marathon of 42.2 km, all completed in a single day.

After months of relentless training, sacrifice, and perseverance, Boris achieved the extraordinary. Crossing the finish line with the Israeli flag proudly raised, he not only completed the race but also delivered a powerful message to the world about resilience, courage, and the refusal to give up in the face of adversity.
His achievement is far more than a sporting accomplishment. It is a testament to the strength of the human spirit, the power of determination, and the ability to overcome even the greatest challenges. Boris's journey serves as an inspiration to wounded veterans, athletes, and people everywhere who are facing their own struggles.
An incredible achievement and a proud moment for Israel. Boris Shtonda reminds us all that true strength is not measured by the obstacles we face, but by the courage with which we overcome them.
