Gorbenko and Golovaty Qualify for the NCAA Swimming Championships

Two Israeli swimmers competing for the University of Louisville, Anastasia Gorbenko and Daria Golovaty, have successfully qualified for the NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. The prestigious event is set to take place from March 18 to 21 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Anastasia Gorbenko: Leading the Pack

Gorbenko, who joined the collegiate circuit in January after nearly a year on the sidelines, qualified in three events—all within the nation's top ten. Her standout performances include:

  • 200 Individual Medley (IM): Qualified in 1st place, holding a lead of over a second ahead of the second seed.

  • 100 & 200 Breaststroke: Qualified in 3rd place for both events.

Throughout her debut season, Gorbenko has been dominant. She broke school records in just her second appearance and earned four medals at the Conference Championships (silver in the 200 IM, 100 breaststroke, and 4x100 free relay; bronze in the 200 breaststroke). Notably, she clocked a 25.49s breaststroke split in the 4x50 medley relay—the third-fastest split in history.

ia Golovaty: Consistent Excellence

Golovaty qualified for the championships in three freestyle events:

  • 100 Freestyle

  • 200 Freestyle

  • 500 Freestyle

Her qualification follows a highly consistent season, highlighted by a victory in the 500 freestyle early in the year and steady performances across all dual meets.

The championships will feature approximately 322 swimmers from Division 1, the highest level of collegiate swimming in the United States. Follow us for more Twitter : https://goo.gl/KhgKGD
